I would like to reload 44 special with 310gr lee swcfp. I currently use these bullets in for my 44 mag loads but wonder if they could be used in the 44 special. I know this is heavy and maybe the reason for the lack of data out there. Any know of or can suggest the data?
I've used either 5.5 grains of Unique or 4.7 grains of Bullseye in my Bulldog Pug, shooting 265 grain ranch dogs, but I can't help you with that heavy of a bullet.
Good luck.

I can run some #s through QL - what powders do you have available?

The powders I plan on using is bullseye, herco, pistol powder, or h110.

By the time you stuff a 310 gr boolit into that short little 44spl case you won't have any room for powder. I've thought about doing the same thing, I would have to use Bulseye or win231 and I'd worry about using that fast a powder with a boolit that heavy.

got to about agree with larry. Ive done stranger things but a 310 is a bit heavy to be efficient in the 44 special case. Personaly i think 250s are about as heavy as a guy wants to go with them.
In my opinion, if Mr. Keith thought a 300+ grain boolit would work efficiently, we would have designed and created a load for it.

The big 300 does works fine in the magnum case, it's a natural transition for the increase in case size from the special which was originally loaded with a 246 grain lead round nose. A 250 Keith boolit works great in the special.
