I believe I finally found the problem to my P99 40sw keyholing cast bullets. The barrel slugs at .3995 - .400. Bullet has to be sized at .400 to chamber. If the bullet is bigger than that it doesn't want to chamber easy. At times you have to tap the slide to chamber fully. Them throat will shave lead if it's over .400. It appears that the chamber/ throat is slightly oblong. About .0015 differnce from side to side vs top to bottom. If I size at .402 and chamber the bullet when I eject the shell the bullet has a shiny spot on the bottom where the lead is shaved.
So now I'm taking it to the smith to fix the chamber. Does this seem the right thing to do? Or am I missing something here.
