I just picked up a bucket of lead ingots , about half have "SAECO" on them and the rest have "OHAUS" and those ones have 100 on the side of them. are these just ingot mold brands ? the saeco ones are very hard compared to the ohaus ones, theres a bar of solder that is 30/70 is that 30% tin ? thanks, Ward.

Those are brands of ingot moulds. I have and use 2 of each of them. You'd have to test the ingots to tell approximately what they are though.

Saeco, Lyman, Ohaus, and RCBS all made 4 cavity cast iron ingot molds that are virtually identical in shape and size-varying only with the name. Lee also makes one but it is made from aluminum(it has two cavities that also make 1/2 pound ingots). Anyone could have cast ingots in them out of any alloy so you will have to test what you have to determine the hardness. LLS
