Anyone use AA2200 with cast bullets???? .308, 30.06, 8mm, 6.5 sweed, 7.5 swiss, 7.62x54r.
Got a jug a long time ago and forgot I had it. I think I got it to load .223, but ended up using Varget insted.

..............I have a jug and used it in the 7.62x39 and 35 Rem. Would any of that info be of help? Oops! I found some other published data but none for thos particular rounds. Bet you could extrapolate some data from it though. Lemme know!

The .35 Rem data would be interesting to me. I'm developing an interest in pistol weight .35's at high speeds from the .35-336. I have some AA2200 and a SAECO #399 mold with a #354 on back-order at Midway. Basically, these are 180 grain boolit molds that I want to push past Mach 2. I drove some boolits from SAECO #399 to over 2200 fps with 41.0 grains of AA2230-C with impressive accuracy and what appears to be way lower pressure than my other 336's are used to. I mean the cases had virtually no visible bulge at the body/head junction and measured no more than .455" in diameter. For the sake of reference, my 37.0/AA2520 charge behind SAECO #352 (240 grains) produces noticeable expansion and a .457" wide case (expansion measured on virgin Winch. cases).

P.S. I want to start at 2200 fps and work up.

I got a jug a while back too. I tried it with light to medium weight jacketed bullets in .223, 7.62x39, 30-30 and .308. I found it did not burn efficiently (low ES) until near the top end loads. I did not try it with cast but it might work with heavier cast bullets in the .35 Rem. Only one way to find out.

...............Well heck! I had a 4 page printout from Accurate arms on 2200 and I just saw the dang thing the other day. I just went out to find it and danged if I can lay my hands on it. It listed loads and pressures for cartridges from the 45-70 to the 7.62x39. Until I can find it, here's all I did with it in the 35 Rem.

Small ring Mauser, 20" bbl with a 16" twist. R-P cases & WW LR primers.

Saeco #356 200gr FNGC: Crimp

37.0grs, SD 20, ES 50, Avrg 2108 fps

Uncrimped:

37.0grs, SD28, ES 74, Avrg 2115 fps

Remington 200 JSP, R-P cases & WW LR primers

35.0grs, SD 3, ES 6, Avrg 2000 fps (Accurate shows 35.0grs as max)
36.0grs, SD23, ES 53, Avrg 2077fps
37.0grs, SD 36, ES 88, Avrg 2138fps

I sure thought I had more AA2200 data then that for the 35 Rem. It appears that surp WC846 was such a winner I concentrated on that with the heavier cast.

I do have more data for the 7.62x39 and AA2200 but I'll be out int he shop tomorrow and see if I can't lay my hands on the Accurate Arms data.

Buckshot,

I know the feeling. Like when I had to grease some new bearings for my tractor the shaft that goes up to the greaser was missing. Hell couldn't find it so I made one on my lathe. Then I found the original. Actually what it is old Buckeroo is your other self in the other six dimension world screwing around with you. He will more and hide that stuff to drive you nuts and he knows when you least need it, pop there it is he puts it in front of you. Don't believe those "you're getting old" stories.

Like the time I was setting up to do some heavy torch work, silver soldering up some 2" and 3" copper pipe in the lab. Couldn't spot any of my strikers to start the flame; fumbled around, remembered I had put one in my hip pocket, so I put down the one in my left hand to reach around and grab it. And that was when I was YOUNG!
