I have always favored Federal because most of the competition shooters I knew swore by it.
Lapua rifle brass is supposed to be the most consistent and is priced accordingly. Norma is good also but expensive.

Anything but Bertram brass (Australian made)very inconsistant manufacturing processes.
Seriously, Winchester and Remington. That's what I have the most of for most of my rifles. I have Norma for my 6.5 Swede, but I built that rifle over 20 years ago, and the only brass you could get at the time was Norma. Couldn't find even a factory load back then. Ditto for my 45-110 Shiloh Sharps. Norma brass. I'm not such a serious handgunner, so most of that brass is Winchester, Remington, or Federal. I do have Starline for my 38-55, and I bought that to fit my original chamber. They offer the "Old, longer" case, and the new short case length in that caliber.

Bill

Starline for the 38-55 and pistols. Lapua for the 223 service rifle match gun. WW for most everything else. Mike

I think this question can only be answered in terms of what caliber(s) is/are being loaded and to what performance level. IMHO, there is no one best brass supplier for all applications. I use a lot of Winchester for .32-40 and other schuetzen era calibers, Winchester and Remington for .45-70 BPCS loads, RWS when I can get it for my wildcat .32/357 Dell (when I can get it) and Starline as a go-to if brass for the caliber in question is otherwise hard to find. There is no set answer for this question, IMHO.

PS For high power rifle competition, the question will also depend on what your rifle is... if you still shoot an old Garand, you might want to scrounge up a bunch of those LC Match rounds for your best performance.

May depend on what's available at the time I need them. Choices for certain obsolete cartridges are, at times, slim to none. But if given a choice:

1) Norma
2) Lapua
3) Hornady

I agree about Federal as that is what I use for most of my +p+ defense rounds. However, I have noticed that ,since Federal and Speer became owned by the same corp, some of the federal brass (40S&W) is, by the look of the headstamp, made on speer equipment. It may stand up to repeated high pressure loadings. I found that the Speer brass didn't so I suspect the Speer/Federal brass.
After Federal, my choices are Winchester and then Remington for pistols. Starline is very good; but, I don't have to buy any because of range brass. I love people who don't reload.
For rifle brass the LC 308 brass has very consistant necks. The only "normally priced" commercial brass that matched LC is Hornady Match brass. Federal was good; but, still required the necks to be turned.
I bought 500 starline 45-70 cases to supplement the range brass and it is excellent.

I use what I have/what I can get, but keep it in like type lots. I will not use Amerc or S&B.

WCC and TZZ for 45 acp. Some of my WCC brass no longer has a head stamp, and it's still good.

I've run across several instances of Hornady brass being considerably heavier than other head stamps in same caliber. It pays to weigh.

Starline puts out a good product.

I'm a Wincheter, Remington prefered - But Military if available first -
as far as federal - I have been having trouble with 'em so cull those out.
(soft brass, overly large rim on 9mm, other little issues - it's not worth the time
to play with.)

1) What ever is given to me for free
2) What ever I can pick up at the range for free

Experience and loading needs do not require that my brass and other components perform to a certain level.

Starline, Remington, Winchest, and Federal.

I only shoot handguns, though, so I'm not too picky.
