Wondering if I have a new source for lead...Just got the word that I have a new job with the Sherrifs dept as a Jailer and they have an indoor range at the complex. Bullet trap ought to make it easy to recover the lead. Another positive aspect of civil service.

Let's hope you are the only caster there!

That has been on my mind since I thought of it. With over 200 employees, more than likely there is a few.

at best 2 or 3. easy to split the stash if they provide equal labor boxing it up.

Sounds like a gold mine of sorts. Not only a source for lead, but also for brass. Keep us in mind if any of the brass becomes available. I'd be interested in .40's, .38s and .357s.

It would amaze me if an organized Sherrifs dept hasn't already figured out the profit from selling the brass.

They might sell it but there are still going to be hookups for those on the job I'd bet.

and the lead too!
I've helped to clean out two police indoor ranges. Both had over 20 years accumulation and there were a bunch of us so it didn't go real far.

Brass is obvious, it's under foot. Lead is forgotten except by the rangemaster.
It would amaze ME if the PC Sheriffs Dept hasn't realized all the dangers associated with lead. And hired trained HazMat companies to dispose of it for them........Lee
