I remember back in '62 - I was assigned to Lackland AFB @ San Antonio TX. There was a riot in the county jail, and the Sherrif quelled it in short order. He ordered the prisoners back into their cells, and when they didn't go, he shot 'em - with wax bullets. DANG! THAT HURT! OK, I'll be good, and back into their cells they went.
I've read that hot glue sticks can be used this way too.

Here's a link to a NRA page, on making and shooting wax bullets.

I can just see it now, the great debate over which is better, wax bullets, or gluelits!
Why, gluelits, of course!

Anybody have this Lyman edition?
I would like a copy or scanned pdf file...(yes I know about copyrights!)
"42nd edition of Lyman Reloader’s Handbook (copyright 1960). Flipping through that book revealed an article by Charles M. Heard, titled “Wax Bullets” where he described a wax bullet formula along with the proper way to prepare the case for loading"
