I'm well aware of the side opening patchox's with the Pineapple finials on the early Hawken's .

But on later ones did they make a smaller normal opening capbox like on this rifle ?

I have a chance to possibly get this rifle . I'm just not certain this was a style capbox Hawken used on their later rifles .

I know the later guns had alot of cosmetic changes from the early days. I don't have that book yet... The stock alone would fit a later made rifle, early ones (mostly) where plain jane maple for durability. Later ones got alot more fancy.

All I'm intrested in is whether that capbox was correct for something that would have been made in the Hawken shop in the later years !

I realize most were ordered without capbox's but was this style capbox correct for their shop in the later years .

Allot of items during this period were not production made so many could vary. I wouldn't get too ung up on it but the one showing looks like mine on my CVA Mountain rifle.
