I've tried 17g of Unique with the RCBS 35-200 and the results have been less than "stellar"! Velocity is 1650 fps and the gun is a new Rem 700 CDL with a 1:16 twist. Any suggestions of other loads using this boolit? I do have other powders on hand, so I'm not stuck on Unique.

Try your luck with 4064 around 40 gr and up.
I think my load is 40.6 but very good bambi slayer.

Measure the throat diameter on your rifle. My money is it's quite a bit bigger than the bullet. Normal Rem 35 whelen throat is about .362" and that mould usually throws around .359".

Try 20 grs. 2400 under a 160 grain 357 gas checked boolet. You will be suprised.

I used 16 grains of 2400 under that boolit for a great target load in the 35 whelen I used to have. Was able to push water dropped boolits to 2000 fps with no problems, using 2400, but the charge was over 25 grains, not sure about pressure, but saw no signs of it while working up.
