I went to the range with it not expecting a lot as the wind was a genital Panhandle breeze of 50+ mph from the SW ( it got to 72mph that day). Well back to the gun, I had loaded some Lyman 200gr LSWC with 12.4gr HS6. They shot very well from 25yds down to 3 yds, I figure that is the zone of self defense. The first five from 15 yds were in a silver dollar group, the load has some snap to it but the Taurus handles recoil very well. Didn't get to stay as long as I would have liked as the wind started to get serious after 50 rounds. I was very happy with the load and it seemed to have plenty of power.

its always good to hear that you are happy with the performance of a new gun. I am not familiar with that model could you give some details please

I take it it's 45 Colt? Seems they have discontinued all but one model of that series. Should do the job. They also no longer the Raging Bull in 480 Ruger and discontinued the Raging Hornet, so I'd better hang on to the ones I have. I like the lifetime warranty.

These were discontinued 4 or 5 years ago, my son had it and we traded CCW's because he wanted mine and I like this one. As you can see it is a medium frame with a ported 2" barrel, he is a hot rodder and has pushed the 2" barrel to 1100fps with a 200gr boolit. It shoots heaver boolits but very high so I stick to the 200. It weighs 29oz. they had one a total titanium that weight 19 oz's but I do not like to be hurt

I have the titanium model and had to change the grip so I would have some skin left on my knuckle. My son has the ultralite and carries his often. They both shoot 250grn boolits pretty well at about 850fps. The only problem I've had is with primers backing out on the light snappy loads. Hope you enjoy your big bore light weight.
