41 mag results with pics

I went to the range today, and I spent the whole afternoon from 10am till about 5pm. Did a LOT of shooting and testing of a bunch of loads I had loaded up over the winter.

The 41 mag contender is what I brought out first.

It was a nice sunny day, no clouds in the sky, (how could there be wind was constant at 35 mph) it was really windy, fortunately the wind was directly behind me so no cross wind. I'm using a 2 power scope.

I had just traded into an NEI 270 gr 41 caliber mould, long flat nose gas check. I was anxious to try it out. I loaded up some at 12.5gr of 2400 and then about 15 rounds at 14gr. The 12.5 were nice and I used them to get on paper at 25 yds.

I then shot the 14gr at 25 yds and then at 100 yds.

It was R-P cases, CCI 350 primers
14gr of 2400
270gr NEI LFN GC
sized at .411 with gator check and wiljen's pink lube and some with speed green.

after shooting two shots and getting a group at 100yds I adjusted the scope and shot 3 more shots. I'm simply amazed.

There's the contender target! Looks decent, could have a 5 shot group right there in one spot, I have an idea about adjusting zero. The 270 grain looks like it carried really well, nice round holes.

That is one long snout on that boolit. That 3 shot group is respectable for just starting out.
I did some shooting last fall with a 265 GC Truncated nose in my 41 Dan Wesson and my 414 Dan. Both prefererd 1680 for accuracy. I have never had a contender 41 Mag so maybe that rig will not have the same results.

just starting out?2 sighters into an inch and then 3 shots into or under an inch at 100yds? heck I'm DONE with load development! Now to just load more and practice shooting. :D

This is typical of my shooting with a good load.
I had a good rest and there was no wind.
