I'm looking at shooting the two day Appleseed program early this summer down here in GA, and the range we'll shoot on has targets to 300 yards. I've got the Lee 309-200-1R that drops at 202 grains w/water quenched WW. I understand the value of the Unique and 2400 loads out to maybe 200, but any of you folks have boolit experience with an '06 to 300? The rifle is a SAKO, 24" sporter BBL in a McMillan glass/pillar bedded stock with the barrel free floated. It will shoot .5-.75 inch first three rounds out of the barrel with J-word 150 grain flat based bullets and a near max load of 4064.
I'm not wedded to this mold if you think there's something better for this task, and open to powder suggestions. I'll load in once-fired R-P brass that has been trimmed, primer pockets cleaned and flash holes deburred. Based on what I've heard and read I'll need to have 150-200 rounds for the high power second day, so I'm looking for a load that will do the job and not beat me up at the same time. All suggestions will be appreciated.
