450 Marlin

Anybody reload for 450 Marlin?Can I use 45-70 or 45 colt dies to resize my 450 Brass?I am going to load down some ammo with cast boolits.The Hornady Leverevolution is a little Hot.My marlin Guide Gun with the 18 1/2 barrel Kicks like a Mule.It is Factory ported but it dont help much.Anyone reload this round with IMR-4895?I got the Lee hollow base boolit Mold.I this boolit good for the 450 mag?Any info will help.Thx Mike

I have not loaded for the 450 marlin but I did use my 45/70 dies to load for the 458x2"
Not much difference between the 450 marlin and the 458x2" accept the thickness of the belt and .01" length longer for the Marlin cartridge.
I would not try loading the 450 with 45 colt dies since the colt dies size the brass down way too far for 458 boolits. They are intended for .451" boolits so will be way over working the brass and boolits will be a really way too tight fit.
Your ammo will end up looking like a snake trying to swallow a hard ball.
The 45/70 dies should do just fine, just dont try to FL size them. Back off the die so the belt is not trying to enter and all should be well.
