Magaporting

Reading the other magaporting thread got me to thinking.
I have a Tarus 44 spl short barrel. It is ported.
I hate the porting.
What can I do to plug the holes if anything?
JB weld?
Drill and tap?
????

if it were a dan wesson you could just put on the non-ported bbl.
jb weld could work if you plugged the Bbl with clay before hand.
if you wanted permanent ,man a weld and grind and polish job'd cost ya, might be cheaper to re-bbl.

I'd try to find someone who wanted it . . . then buy what you want.

What is it that you don't like about it? noisy?

I would think the J-B weld would blow out due to combustion pressure. welding it may get into the grooves and lands and cause accuracy problems. even if welded, you would have to grind down and polish the welds and refinish the barrel.
best bet is to replace the barrel with one not ported.
