I have a Lyman 457122 factory HP mold in pristine condition. I cast about 50 nice looking HP's with the mold. Bullets drop from the mold at .457 ", I'm sizing to .454 ".
I found a load for the bullet in the Long Colt case with AA # 9 , 15.4 grs., with the 335 gr. bullet in the Long Colt case.
By crimping in the normal crimp ring, it chamber smoothly and doesn't come close to the end of the cylinder of the Super Red Hawk.
1,100 feet per second. 900 foot pounds of energy.
I'm looking forward to trying these out.
