I will admit to being a Colt New Service revolver nut. Just bought what is perhaps the ultimate 45 Colt (not ACP) revolver for paper punching (although it would also hunt well for younger eyes).
It is a 7 & 1/2" Flat top target model that, according to the factory letter, was shipped to St. Louis in 1926.
Not cheap but the workmanship could only be found today on an upgraded Freedom Arms guns or maybe an S&W custom shop that will cost as much and not have the elan' of this piece.
Now I have an excuse to buy another NEI mold !

You're preaching to the choir with me. The new service is one of the Colt models I don't own but it's on my short list. Just Beautiful.

Very nice but the cylinder turns the wrong way!
But while I have you, do you know anything about a limited run of 1917 lookalikes except with the old S&W blue, color case hardened frames in 45 ACP and a 4" barrel ? Made a few years ago and a shop near me has one NIB for $800.

Those are some nice shooters.

This one's my favorite for throwin heavy lead. Redhawk 5.5" in 45 Colt. Took me a while to find it, I was also able to find one of the Super Blackhawk Hunters in 45(not bisley) but haven't shot it enough to be my favorite.

First pic post, don't make fun of me too much if it doesn't work..

The Colt New Service with adjustable sights is TRULY a Classic. That appears to be a particularly nice one.

I'm more and more, getting to be a bit like Brian Pearce. He states his favorite calibers are .44 Special, .44 Magnum, and .45 Colt. I have to agree with him but I would add one more - the .45 ACP.

I have several .44 Specials and have been blessed that they have ALL shot really well.

My two most used revolvers are a pair of 625's chambered in .45 ACP.

Then there is a recent acquisition of a Ruger SS Bisley .45 Colt/.45 ACP Convertible.

They are ALL prime candidates for "Best of Show" in my book.

At any rate, congratulations for your latest (Colt New Service .45 Colt Target).
