I'm in the process of tooling up to make bulk checks. My god it's a pain in the butt. Soooo many places to have .001 of misalignment that completely throws everything to hell.

Finally getting somewhere though. Dimensions still need to be tuned in, since my shank diameter is for some reason coming out as .274 instead of .284, but I'll figure that out sooner or later. I think I know why it's doing it.

In the meantime I need to make a new boring bar.

Snowman,
Those are some like looking Check, are you having unevenness on the sides when forming the cups. If so I made a sliding centering "tool" that goes on my forming ram that has make a diff. I can send you a picture of the centering tool if that would help.

They are even all the way around, that's not a problem. My biggest problem is making all of the punches and dies perfect so everything lines up.

I had it going for a good period of time, but I decided to screw with it some more, I ended up jamming the press and it screwed up one of my punches. Once I get this thing going properly, knocking out a couple thousand checks shouldn't take too long...it's just getting everything "perfect"....and having it perfect so it can be perfect time and time again...instead of just the one time by chance.

Once I get everything figured out, I'm hoping to do a group buy, and knocking out some of the odd calibers I know people shoot.

Have you looked at the thread one step gas check? There are several different designs, non of which look to have a problem with alignment. Or some pics of what you are making might help to see what your alignment problem is.
