Here is a spotting scope from Yukon. Has anyone know anything about this scope? It cost $379 on Amazon. Is it any good? Is it worth the price? Seems like a very good price for the specs. I've been mouthwatering at this thing a long time.

And sometimes you get more! I've got a Winchester 20 x 60 spotting scope, sells for $269.99 at Cabelas, bought mine new at a Gun Show with scratch in case for $75.00 new. Can see .17 cal holes out to 150 yds in the black. Don't know about further out as our range only goes to 150 yds.

sun position has a lot to do wiht this. in my case the range faces west so west....the sun gets off the face of the target early....tuff to see.

A silhouette shooting friend had one of those. I believe he said it was made in Russia. He liked it. As with most zoom scopes, it did much better if you kept the magnification in the bottom half of the range.

Edited to add: You might get a better scope by spending the same amount on one with a 60mm objective lens. The cost for a HIGH QUALITY spotting scope is roughly proportional to the square of the objective lens diameter.

Seeing the bullet holes is only a small part of the spotting scopes job. Seeing the mirage is more important in my opinion. Seeing the mirage is seeing the wind. I have an 82mm Kowa and I'm seriously considering upgrading to the flourite coated scope to help see the mirage better.

I can see 22 caliber holes in the black at 200 and I can kind of tell where 45 caliber holes are (sort of) at 600 if the light is right.

...........Their warranty seems vague to me. I checked around and couldn't find a definative explaination of it, unlike Leupold or similar makers very simple Lifetime description.

and the ability to resolve an 'x' dia hole iat "y" yards s related to the dia of the lens...plus quality.

so buying a 60 mm kowa will not get you to see holes at 200...btdt.

hip how much do you want for your 82 kowa wiht no eye pc ?
