Some (many?) still smoke cavities, but I think most of those are newbys who have been doing their homework, and found that the 'literature' is full of references to smoking.

Beyond that, I think the majority of (call 'em) old hands now feel that eliminating the 'mechanical problem' which causes bullets to stick is preferable to any use of 'mould release'.
