Picked up a four cavity LYman 424 RB mold today at the Fitchburg, MA show for $10.00, I have never cast a round ball, don't need one now, but I got it so what is it good for???

Works pretty good if you put them in a .431" sizing die and bump flat on both sides with a flat top punch. That expands them out to .431" in the middle. They make great 2 ball loads for a .44 Magnum.

That's what I do with the one I have./beagle

Or run them through a .400 for pistol or multi ball .410 loads. Heaps of uses.

If you have a Marble's "Game Getter," it's just the thing for .44-40 round ball loads in the shotgun barrel.

Be good for making slugs for slugging pistol barrels. I have heard or 44 BP rifle even though it is uncommon.
