Carnauba wax flakes

In answer to your second question, it serves to polish and condition the bore more than as a lubricant... it hardens the mix somewhat, but seems to not be of much value in amounts about about 5-10%. I've added it at the rate of about 5% to my version of Emmert's lube that I use for both BP and smokeless as well as my own proprietary smokeless lube known as "Frog Guano" but that's another story. ;-)
