I've ordered most of the parts to do the PID conversion on my lead pot. I have a few questions though as I'm not much of an electrican.
I ordered the 1/16 din controler for the SSR, the SSR, thermancouple, and a box to hold it all.
I have some old computers and was wondering if I can use a heatsink from one of them for the SSR?
Will I need an on/off togel switch for the box? An on/off switch for the pot?
What gage wire for main power to the box? Wire size for connections inside the box? Wire size from box to pot?
I have downloaded the instructions for the PID and it seems simple enough to wire up. I just want make sure I get it wright.
One last question. I got the short 1/4x20 threaded thermalcouple. When installed does it need to make contact with the bottom of the pot?
