I have a chance to get some Struktol pelletized lube that's added to wood/plastic before running through an extruder. I know it has some kind of biocide in it, but it's mostly animal fat - tallow - that's chemically stabalized.

Anyone ever tried this stuff? It would be free to me. I'm a bit leery of the biocide.

Not familiar with it but epending on what they call a "polymer"...you might want to invest in some acetone or acetone based bore cleaner before you shoot it. If you have ever cleaned a trap/skeet gun after a long weekend of competition with plastic wads you may already have the skills you may need to clean your gun.

I had one very bad clean up job after my excursion with a castboolit lube that was a bit too close to a "POLYMER"....but it did shoot ok. (highly synthesized oil like compound that apparently was only one good heat cycle away from PLASTIC)

Other than that bit of reading I have only been exposed to struktools, strukskunks, strukcats, strukpossums, strukdeer, struksquirrels, struckgirls, strukguys, struktrees, strukpoles, etc...etc....etc. Struk-i-tall sounds dangerous...but may prove highly entertaining.:bigsmyl2:[smilie=p:[smilie=s:

biocide means to end life.
don't breathe it in, get it in your eyes etc...
i work with biocides occasionally amongst acids, strong bleaches, oxidizers, flammables.
high pressure and the only one i am afraid of is the biocides i use.
biocides come in different forms like bacteria,ph adjusters, poisons, etc..
