Found this listing on an upcoming auction list(local). Anyone familiar with this, any comments?
Also listed is a Winchester Mod. 250, 22 Lever Action, I'm not familiar with this one either. Any opinions or comments please.

They look like Marlin 336's

other than that I don't know much about them.

They had the unique feature of the trigger travelling with the lever. In many particulars they are much like a 336 Marlin. As I recall, they stopped selling them sometime in the '70's.

Almost bought a used one years ago. Trigger pull was gritty and loose feeling, probably in part to it's unique design. The cowboy star Roy Rogers was shown holding it in a 1960's magazine ad I found. Came in 30-30 and 35 Rem. Purchased a Marlin pre-Mircogroove Levergun instead (same dealer). Marlin was the better quality and a proven performer. Still wonder how the Mossberg would shoot.---- The 250 wincheser was part of the post 1964 design family. There was a series of 22 rimfires all using the same receiver-a Semi-auto, a Pump, and your Lever action (my favorite to look at). I remember lusting after the 250 levergun in the Sears store (1965). I was about 10 years old. Later in life , got to shoot a few. Mushy trigger, aluminum receiver scratched easily, very light for offhand shooting AND the mechanics of the design is very poor. Have seen quite a few since that where broken and need repair. Not Winchester's finest model. Dropped in the 1970's and replaced with the all-steel 94/22.

Thanks for the input. Sounds as if I will keep my rifle money for something better.
