Has anyone tried using primer cups for bases?
The bullet on the right is a .308 "1/3 jacket" made from a .50 primer cup.

Fired large primer cups (the brass ones) work as a short jacket on .224" swaged lead bullets.

yea he used a 50 bmg primer for a half jacket on a 9mm boolit...
The 50 BMG primer is HUGE. They cost twenty five cents each when your buying them to load. Would be nice to get more use out of them.

I have swaged some nice 22 bullets, I use in 223 @ about 1700 f/s, out of musket caps either copper or bass . They swage easy but even with a lot of exposed lead they do not expand well. The main purpose of them is reduced noise for vermin around house at night.
