I have both of these molds and was wondering if anyone here has a preference for one or the other.

Well, I had both of those and now only have the 429421 so I guess that the one I prefer. No gas checks is the big plus for me. Couldn't really see much difference in accuracy.

I have both and both are classics and excellant bullets but I probably use the 429421 20-1 over the 429244. Mostly I shoot Rugers and S&W's in 44 mag and 44 spec with the 429421 but I am planning on using the 429244 in a Marlin 1894 44mag I recently purchesed. I don't think I would sell my 429244 but there isn't much you can't do with the 429421.

I use the 429421 much more in my revolvers and the 244 in my lever.

I use and like both but probably use 429421 more because no gas check. I made some hunting load's for a Ruger Blackhawk and got a little better accuracy with 429244 gas checked. I also use 429244 in Marlin .444 I guess if I had to pick one it would be 429421 because it's just a good all around boolit. Hope I never have to pick LOL !

I have both moulds and use the 429421 almost exclusively between the two. If I use the 429244 at all, it is only 5 rounds occasionaly to remove any minor leading in a revolver, or for a max load in a .44 mag carbine. Actually, for minor leading removal I prefer the 429215 with a gas check.

I have had much better accuracy with 429421 plus have given up on gas checks as both an
expensive PITA and completely unnecessary in pistols.

Sold the 429244 and have only the 429421. Can't justify the added cost and extra effort that gas checks entail.

421 runs $30/1,000 cheaper than the 244. I have both but can't remember the last time I used the 244. Gotta be 30 years or more. I remember shooting a prairie dog with it in CO in 76, but don't remember using it afterward.

I've shot the 421 in my Rem 788 bolt rifle with complete satisfaction. It also works to my satisfaction in my three M-29 Smiths.

I don't know why I keep the 244 around. Probably should have added it to the Grey Wolf benefit auction.

Stew

Only have the 429421 -- reason for purchase NO additional expense with checks ... I am pleased with it ...
