Kimber 8400 barrel shank dimensions and thread pitch

Am looking for the barrel shank dimensions and thread pitch for the Kimber 8400. Have been offered several barrels that might work for rebarreling...however, I don't have the dimensions for the Kimber.

Why don't you pull the barrel and check it, you'll have to before threading anyway.

The barrels that are offered are new take offs threaded for a Win Mod 70, Post 64, with 16 threads per inch. If this thread pitch is the same as for the Kimber and the shank diameter is the same or smaller than the M70, I can rebarrel at a later date with minimal work. The barrel on the Kimber is perfect right now. I have assumed that Kimber is like Winchester in that the barrel shank and threads are the same for both the 84M and 8400....I may need correcting on this!! So, the diameter and pitch would prove useful as to whether I pick them up or not.

Why don't you contact kimber directly and see if they would furnish the info you seek. May want to say that your rebarreling and would like the factory specs. Couldn't hurt. Frank
