Any one have one of these. Thinking about getting one. I would like to shoot more 45 acp without chasing brass all the time.

I will say this. Better watch the front sight height. I bought one Monday and it shoots way high at 25 yards. (Yes I know how to adjust sights and the load was a 454424 at 900 fps.)
The blade is .340" high. The blade on one I bought 2 or so years ago is .430" which is perfect.
Best to take a set of calipers to the store with you and measure.
Now this abortion will have to go back to the factory which I dread as I waited over 5 months for a small job from a custom guy.
This gets on my last nerve.

I have to replace the sight on all my Blackhawk 45's with the .595" sight. Otherwise, they shoot way high. That is the worst issue with a Ruger 45, but is an easy fix with a torch, some solder, and a call to Brownells. Sorry about the blurry photo.

I had one about 8 years ago. My first .45 Colt.
It shot well enough for me at the time. Mostly, it got fed commercial 250 swc's over 9 grn Unique in .45 Colt.
Unfortunately, I never shot the ACP cylinder, but from what I've heard, the ACP cylinder will usually outshoot the .45 Colt.
Never had a sight height issue.

I never had the problem before either and I have a Stainless BH in 45 Colt too so I now have 3 plus a New Vaquero and a S&W Mountain gun but I have the problem now.
Just aware that it can and does happen.

Got to thinking about it.
When I bought my Bisley (traded my convertible on it) back around '02 it DID have the front sight issue, like you said, shot about 8" high. I put up with it for a while, then when I sent it to get it tuned, I had Hamilton Bowen put on a new front sight.
Cured what ailed it.

Bought one of the first stainless Bisleys . Was not a convertable just 45 Colt. Front sight way to short. Eventualy got rid of it. Bought one of the last issues of this Bisley a convertable. Perfect front sight. Put a Millet rear on it which is higher then the stock rear sight and is still good with 300 gr boolits. Really have to watch those front sights on Rugers.

I have a 45 Convertible with a 7 1/2" Bbl, it's about 35 years old and I bought it new. It has the front sight issue and shoots about 10" high at 25 yds. It is very accurate with both cylinders, and I do believe the 45 ACP may be a tad bit more accurate. I also have new BH convertible I bought a couple of weeks ago and the sights are perfect on it. It is very accurate with 45 Colt cylinder, but I haven't shot the 45ACP cylinder yet. The are fun guns to shoot and great for hunting. The new checkered black plastic grips on the blued models will tear up your hands with hot loads!

Mine is a great shooter with the ACP cylinder. Lee 200 grain RNFP and Unique. My 1911 loves the same load.
