Ok this is a heads up on a great ebay seller. I thought about putting it in the feedback forum, but it is not from a member here.

I recently purchased 3 cut off bits from AZtools-Jerry and it ended up being a great deal. We had a mixup on packages shipping, I got someone else's package. I relayed that I would just send it on to the rightful buyer and we could work out the shipping some how. Not a big deal as he had gotten my package returned and it was headed my way.

They refunded almost double my shipping and made an extra second refund. I returnded the second to them and donated the first to the Gray Wolf cause. Not a big deal but thought it might help a bit.

Yesterday I got another box from AZtools-Jerry and it was a set of center drills. I then contacted them saying I got the box and wanted to make sure it was to go to me and if it was I wanted to pay for the items ( I was looking for a center drill). The response was the items were a thank you for being a good guy.

I was flabbergasted at the way they have gone above and beyond on my behalf for something I would have done for anyone.

If you guys need items they may have, I would recommend them in a heart beat.

I bought a set of collets from them recently. Collets were a great buy! Their $18.00 electric calipers are junk (sorry).

I've purchased from them before, too.

I think it was a lot of US-made endmills, 35 of them, from 1/8" to 1/2" with most being 3/16" to 3/8". Most coated, all brand new, all sharp as a razor. I snagged them all for $70.. $2 each. I figured they were worth $2 each so I held out and won the auction. I wasn't disappointed. Many of them have small radius on the edge and some were ball end mills. But all US-made and very nice endmills.

Also excellent and very reasonable prices.

Hesitant to buy direct from China? Today I received 2 ER40 collets that were $8 delivered
from Hong Kong. Sizes were 3 and 4mm. Hard size to find in ER40 apparently, at least inexpensively. I gave it a try and it took 12 days to delivery. I'll do biz with them again. Some of the prices are shamefully low.

discount_machine is Shars. Much cheaper than their website. I just took delivery of a R8 ER40 collet set for $150 that is $217 on their website. Fast shipping. These are pure Chinese vendors in Illinois.

This guy has lots of obscure machine collets... like the Y-collets for my Index Model 40 vertical mill. Y collets are two angle acorn collets up to 1/2" including number sizes.

Reproduction Krag handguards and other stuff... 1895 Winchester carbine handguard. Not inexpensive.

"surplus" Jet stuff. I bought a brand new 10" cast iron wood lathe face plate 1"-8 for $20. And it's speed balanced. Honkin' heavy solid face plate that can be adapted to a metal lathe:). He has some good prices. He has a 5C lever collet closer with no bids at $43. You won't get it for $43 but you can try.

If you turn wood on a wood lathe this is the guy to get inexpensive chisels and such. I've done business with him several times now over several years. Good guy.

Speedy Metals. I have an order on the way from them now. I usually buy from them off their website. I've done a lot of biz with these guys. They ship fast and cater to small purchases but it pays to balance the size of the order to justify the shipping.

NcStar 2-7x32 handgun scope $42 delivered. There's nobody cheaper. I just took delivery of one from them. Fast shippers.

800watt - Multiple purchases from them. Never had a problem. There are items he undercuts everybody. I have a R8 ER40 collet chuck on the way from them.

............manleyjt, I'll agree AZTools-Jerry is a super outfit with whom to do business. After I got my lathe I was a tool buying fool :-) One time they had a deal on U.S. made 4 flute M42 cobalt CC endmills. They were 10mm size and being metric apparently weren't gettng much action. They had them in batches of 10. As I had bought some other stuff and they were also a "Buy it Now" for some ridiculas cheap price, I also got a 10 pack of'em. They were superb endmills so I checked and they still listed them so I bought 2 more 10 packs and they sent 5 extras as a thank you. The other thing I liked was they gave you positive feedback as soon as you paid.

I've also had dealings with 800Watt, and while you shouldn't expect feedback from him (unless he's changed) most of his stuff is okay. I bought a set of ER32 collets with a MT3 chuck. I didn't have my mill yet but did have a MT3 spindle nose adaptor for my lathe and used them with a Palmgren toolpost milling vise. WHile they didn't look as nice as say, collets from ETM they all ran true to a couple tenths. On the strength of that I also got a set of ER40's.

Since getting the turret mill I bought a R8 ER40 chuck, but as yet haven't used it. While it's not a big deal I suppose, one of the all time best deals I ever landed were these:

http://www.fototime.com/3F411EE1CE129F0/standard.jpghttp://www.fototime.com/D23FBE058AC1029/standard.jpg

They're brand new 16mm (yeah, metric again) carbide 4 flute CC TiAlN coated endmills. I got 7 of'em for $12 + $7.50 shipping. They're made by Nachi and must have been NOS. The closest I could find were $128 each!

There also used to be a couple places who'd have re-ground endmills (Boeing surplus) but those seemed to have disappeared. A production shop couldn't afford to mess with them, but for a home shop guy they're great. When Boeing re-ground them they had a tag with their new size, and were then dip sealed. I had a bit of an endmill fetish, and am rather well supplied [smilie=w:

However then I had a job at night for 12 hours, a T-1 internet connection and had nothing to do except cruise E-Bay every night for 3-4 hours at a time.

AZ-Jerry..

I bought over $200 worth of bits from him and had planned to buy more. One order came and it was for several carbide drill bits. There were 2 sizes missing.

I contacted him, and he said the bits were there that they must have fell out from damage. I explained the box was perfectly taped all over and was in fine condition no tears.

Never heard from him, then a week later he sends the drills, and then I find out he banned me from his eBay sales when I went to buy more bits. I emailed him back, and he basically called me a thief, and said he only sent the drills cause he didn't want negative feed back.

What an ******. I have 100% positive feedbacks from Jan 2000. Never a bad deal. I had planned to buy many items from him on an ongoing basis...

And no I didn't even leave him negative feedback when I should have. I just don't believe in doing that.

800 watt nailed me with junk twice, and he would NOT respond when I asked to return one of the items.

I guess I'm just that guy ...

I had a similar experience as Pat's with an eBay vendor. I bought and paid for an item using "buy it now". Item never came. After a couple weeks and a couple of unanswered emails my money was refunded to Paypal with a note that read "Sorry". No explanation, nothing. Then a couple days later I get a request from the seller to delete the transaction, as if it had never occured. I had not left feedback at this point and tried to but couldn't because of the delete request. I'm not sure if you can even deny the delete request. Knowing eBay's policies, they'd probably delete it without my consent anyway. So, I agreed to the request and explained my dissatisfaction over his lack of communication. If you want to post something for sale you need to have it in stock and ship it once it has sold.

Knock on wood, I still have not been burned on eBay. Had a few disappointments, but never been ripped off.

Pat,

I am very sorry to hear that you had bad business with them. You and Dutch's responses are why I posted. If I am the only one with a fair shake, I mark that up as luck. If I hear lots of stuff about bad dealings I will not push my luck.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Not trying to discredit your thread manley, and the guy has many satisfied customers. I was just so surprised, then frustrated and ultimately angered by his actions, that I had to post a comment.

I'm mean who does what he did? I never run across that ever. They guy could not admit he or his packer simply slipped up on (2) $8 dollar drills in a large order, and then he bans a good paying customer because of it? I'm still at a loss for words. Sensless.

I could see if I was an *******, and sent rude emails etc., but nothing could be futher from the case,. ...

I think what really got me riled as I spent so much time going through his products and based some production decisions using a few of his continued sale items.

Pat,

No detraction taken on my part. I am very glad to hear of your experiences. It is important for me to hear. I agree that good customers are hard to find, especially when that good customer could end up being one that purchases a bit more than a newb like me.

What sources are you using for tooling and raw materials?

I use Enco a lot. I wish they had some of a few other things I use. I get free shipping codes for them evey month.

Travers for a few things.

Luckily, a guy that works for a aluminum supplier in Redding, ca is a shooter and has given me bulk rate prices for my ROCKDock™ AL. He has allowed me to keep the prices down on that.
He saw my gear at the last Reno Show and has been there to help ever since.

The only place I have been able to get a deal on steel and bolts is down in Sacramento, which is a pain but it works.

Looks like I need to cruise Ebay for some end mills! I only have a couple of small machines, and the quality of the end mill makes a HUGE difference in their performance. I have had the best results with some USA-made solid carbide stuff, but some nice import cobalt ones also worked very well. Goes to show, when it comes to Ebay it's always a good idea to look around, you never know what you might find...
