Does any one do a .314 version of the Lyman .311-041 flat nose, or have we ever done a group buy of something along these lines. Seems like it would be a natural for enfield shooters as a hunting round. Perhaps there is something similar out there that I am unaware of.

Depending on your alloy and casting temp, NOE 311041 will make it or come close.

Niether of mine will cast .313. That's why i'm wondering if any of the mold makers have done a .314 version of this mold. That's what i'm lookin for.

I have a Lyman single cav. mold that is 30 years old, every bullet that drops from that mold with ACWW's is .314 "

I wish I could help, but as you can see, I've invested quite a bit of $ into this particular mold having it HP's by Buckshot. It has turned out to be my " go to " bullet in many of my .30 cal. rifles when deer season starts here in AL.

square butte,

.313"-.314" Fired up the pot today....ran the temp dial all the way up...once the mould started frosting the boolits, I got .313" & .314".
I have a 5C and can't tell which cavity is dropping which, but try it, you might get what you need out of yours.

Oops, I didn't read this part til just now. The 311407 Mod will drop .314, and has a flat nose.......if that's what you're looking for to hunt with a 303. Shoots great in the SMLE #4 MK 1/2.

If you want it a tad larger diameter without the hassle of mould getting too hot, try and Beagle it.

I found this thread last week talking about using aluminum ac duct tape to shim the mold to produce a larger boolit.

There was a GB for a 6 cavity mould. I don't recall what it was called but I call it 314041. Mine drops at .314 - .315 and has a .303 - .304 nose. I shoots fine in one of my M94 30-30s as the nose just bumps the leade on chambering. The nose is too large for any of my .08W or '06s with good throats and leades. It is however a very accurate bullet in my worn M1903 and all fits of my .31s perfectly.

Larry, That's about what I'm lookin for. I dont think any of the custom makers have anything stock like this. I'd go the beagle rout if I didn't use this mold so much for 30-30 and .308. Would like to have a dedicated mold for .303 of this configuration. Wonder if anyone else would be interested. Perhaps there is small run Group Buy potential. Thanks everyone for your response.
