Did you ever have one.You know the kind.
Something is supposed to be easy,Takes all day and you still sc**w it up.
Happened to me today.
Trying to fix a 71/84 Mauser magazine so I can use it instead of singleshot all the time.
First the tube is 1/2 inch too short.
alluminum so no soldering an extention on.
Too thin to weld.
Had the end slightly rolled ( I guess to keep the follower from falling out) so boolits caught on the lip and wouldn't enter mag.
Tried to remove the roll and use it and stripped wood out of the magazine recess.
Working to repair that sc**w up I Punched a hole through the stock (it is very thin near the muzzle) so now I have to either try to repair it or give up and make a complete new stock.This one was new too I just completed it 3 months ago.
Well I have ordered some new brass tubing to make a new Mag tube.
Still have to make up mind wheather to repair or build new.
Think I will try repair first and if I can get it to look ok stop.
If not new stock time and god I hate that. Not hate making a stock but having to because of my own stupidity.
