A well known surgeon signs up at a Trade School for a course on Basic Motor Mechanics.

He works very hard at learning the new skills required to complete the course and after several years of study and practical testing, the time for the final exam comes around.

The Instructor says to the students that the points will be award for their skills in disassembling and reassembling the motor on the work stand in front of them.

Each student can earn up to 50 points for the disassembly and up to 50 points for the successful reassembly of the motor.

After several hours of hard work by the students the Instructor hands out the report cards to them which had their points marked indicating their various skill level.

As the students leave the classroom the surgeon now qualified mechanic approaches the Instructor. He asks the Instructor to explain the points noted on his reported card saying "If the maximum number of points I could earn for disassembling or reassembling the motor successfully is 50 points each, why did you give me 75 points for each task?"

(The answer my give a hint of what speciality the surgeon had prior to starting the course).

The instructor replies, "Because you did both tasks through the exhaust pipe."

Good 'un, John. I've always respected veterinarians more than people doctors. Vets get more training, and thier patients can't talk to them. When I still worked for vets, I would ask them for a curative, before i would a people doctor. And darned it they didn't cure me, 99% of the time!

Vets have to know how many animals' systems? How many does a Dr. have to know? Growing up around farm animals and dealing with vets I had nothing but respect for them. During my wife's pregnancy an OBGYN didn't know if the baby had turned in her ninth month and ordered an ultrasound, with my LIMITED training I could feel the head at this point and had no doubt. So, having said that I would go with the vet when possible (unless it is a prostate exam, I don't like them to go clear up to their shoulder).

What do you call an Amish guy with his arm up to the shoulder in a cow's ass?

A mechanic.

I have an awful lot of respect for veternarians. Much more than the last ER resident I dealt with.

Two see their Doctors for hip problems. The first has an x-ray and goes in the next week for a hip replacement. Spends the night in the hospital and goes home. Cost is $1500. The second goes into to his Doctor and is referred to a specialist. 6 weeks later he sees the specialist, 3 weeks afterward has an MRI, whice is read a week later. He is scheduled for hip replacement three weeks later, 5 days in the hospital and his bill is only $63,000. The first is a golden retreiver the second a senior citizen. Gianni.
