Looking for some load info for 210 gr semi wad cutter gas check for the .44 mag?

what powders are you thinking of using, what gun you shooting? what type of shooting target or hunting? we need details

If you are talking about the Lyman 429215 that's a great but often overlooked boolit, but I agree with Kyl3623--you need to provide more details. The Lyman Reloading Handbook shows data for that Boolit but we don't even know if you are going to use it in a rifle or handgun. This might make a difference.

Every reloading manual I own has load data for this boolit. Do yourself a huge favor and buy some reloading manuals, relying on others, total strangers no less online for your load data could result in serious injury to yourself and others. Many powder manufacturers websites have load data listed. I don;t mind helping, but I won;t do it for you.

kyle - I'll buy what powder I need if necessary (assuming I can find it) - on hand I have red dot and H110 right now

jl - these are Ballistic Laboratories .44 210 gr gas check doesn't say on the box but the appear to be SWC - no number (model # or mold # or anything) associated with it.

Trey - how about telling me what manual(s) you have - I'd be willing to go out and buy one of those. The ones I have here already don't have a list this size bullet for .44 - I've looked on Loaddata.com and several other web sites and the closest I've found is some date for a 215 gr swcgc. I wouldn't blindly take info from someone. I'd compare it to something close and if it looks like its in the ball park reduce it about 10% and go from there. Actually, if I knew what manual had the info I'd be more inclined to go buy that and work off of that info anyway.

All - this is mainly for target shooting but I'm looking for something fairly hot - shooting a Ruger Super Redhawk .44 mag 7 1/2 barrel.

Just looked, the Lyman 48th has a 210GC SWC load. The Bullet listed is the 429215. The Lyman Cast bullet Handbook has the 429215 listed as 215gr bullet, with most load data matching, the only real difference that i can see is the Blue Dot load. I would feel comfortable using 215 grain data for your 210 grain bullet. Especially in a Ruger SRH.

In response to Trey45's comment about relying on others, he's right. I can't speak for Kyl623, but I for one would have steered you to a reloading manual, or would have quoted you from one. Myself, I don't use anything but data published by powder, mold or bullet companies. As to the difference in weight--210 vs 215 gr, over the years I've noticed that the 210 number has been quoted by Lyman both ways. In any case, start with the bottom end of the data for the powder you are using, and work up to the accurate load for the gun you are using. One manual you probably ought to get when it comes out is the newest version of the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook. The common one was published about 20 years ago--and the new one is coming out this summer. Trey45 mentioned the Lyman Reloading Manual, no. 48. The current one is No. 49. Get one of those for starters.

A reloading manual is a must, Lyman cast manual is best, lee is also a good book with several cast boolit loads. some guys will post pet loads, others won't its a matter of preference. myself I like H110 in a 44mag especially in a long barreled one, but it likes to be at near max loads. always use the reloading manuals to check what anybody tells you though. also, most powder companies have load data posted on they'r website if all else fails.
