This was before I started casting and I seem to remember H110, around 19 grains with the 355 grainer was a good "rock your world" load.

I have that mould, and mine also drops right at 345 grains. I called Lyman for data several years ago, but I don't remember where I wrote their answers. Nothing they gave me was over 1100 fps, and I think the slowest powder they had data for was #9. So I used a technique some of the "Shootists" wrote about for high performance .44 Mag and .45 Colt heavy cast boolit loads: Using H110, load to just touch the base of the boolit. Use this as your maximum, do not exceed load, but first back off a grain or two and work up, watching for pressure signs.

My loads, my gun (Rugers and stronger; S&W need not apply), not responsible, blah blah blah.

On this site I found this info. As I have the same BOOLIT Mould and was looking for info for my Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter in .44 Mag. http://www.lasc.us/Fryxell44OverWeight.htm

Back in the early 1990s Lyman introduced a blunt, heavyweight bullet for the .44 Magnum. The Lyman 429649 weighs 338 grains when cast of WW alloy and is a GC-FP design reminiscent of some of the classic African solids in shape. This bullet has a large amount of full-diameter bearing surface forward of the crimp groove, so it's important to size them to fit your revolver's throats, or else they won't chamber. When this blunt sledgehammer is loaded on top of 18.3 grains of W296 it generates 1226 fps with good accuracy from the stainless SBH.

I am also not sure if it is worth the extra lead to use the 429649 over the 431244 or the Ranch Dog 265Gr RNFP GC or even the Lee 310GR RNFP GC?

Let us know how it works for you? :)
