:coffee: Supper day today so I headed to the range with 2 rifles---A 6.5 Swede that I'm working on a head space problem----and A marlin 30-30 -----Used A 160 gr. Lee boolit G/C with a version of felix lube--Testing was done at 50 yrds. with a Marlin 30-30 scoped (Bushnell)---power setting 10----shot from a bench rest

21grs. of AA5744-------about 2 inches
21.5grs.-------------------about 1 inch
22grs.----------------------about 3/4 inch

Also tried winchester 748 26grs----27 grs. and 28grs. all where 2 inches or bigger-----5744 proved to be the better choice at 22grs.----may try 22.5:castmine:

Mag, bring up that 748 load by a considerable amount. Say 34-36 grains. ... felix

Is that Lee perchance the 312-155? I have one of them moulds and it would be a nice load, I think.

:coffee: ----C1PNR You may find that 312-155 wont fit rifle--nose may be too big---give it a try---I cannot use 312-185 (sized ..311)---wont chamber---maybe .310 would ??? I don't have a .310 die---I use Lee---C 309-160-R sized to .311 whereas the lead may be .310 and the gas check .311--dose well for me and the 22grs. of AA5744 is not a wimpy load by any means---I have punched clean holes in 3/8ths. steel plate at 50 yards with 22.5 of 5744 and the 160 g/c boolit.
