ruger p-97 parts compatability?

How similar is a p-97 to a 1911? Will a 1911 slide fit the ruger frame. Any parts interchangeability?

Never tried it but I'd be surprised if a single part would fit between the two.

I have a P97 and a 1911. There is no interchangeability of parts whatsoever.

The P97 magazine follows the same format as the 1911, including the copying the eight shot flush fit made popular in 1911 "gamer" magazines (and which is a bad idea) but even these don't interchange as the magazine latch notch is in the wrong place.
