How is a .375 GC seated on a .380 bullet? Outside diameter of the Hornady GC is .375....can't run is through the sizer to seat or it reduces the bullet diameter to less than .380. I don't get how is gets seated? Thanks, Scott

If you mean a.375" Hornady gc on a 380ACP bullet, then that's not gonna work. You need a .355 gc for a 380ACP bullet.

If you mean how do you put a .375" gc on a 380ACP bullet that does not have a gc shank, then that won't work. If no gc shank, the Hornady gc's won't go on.

If you mean a .375" gc on a .380" as-cast 375Winchester or 38/55 bullet, then that's the right size for that bullet.

If you don't mean any of those, then I don't understand your question.

Sorry....bullet for 38-55....mine casts .380 for my H&R Single Shot Rifle...The GC snaps on just fine but, the Hornady GC's outside diameter is just around plus or minus .001 @ .380...so how will it compress when run through a sizer die? Thanks

Okie,
No problem. It will size down easily. Copper is harder than lead, but not by enough to cause any problem here. A LEE push-though sizer, or any lubrisizer will do the job just fine. Just snap 'em on and run them through the sizer like any other lead bullet.

One thing to keep in mind when casting a gc bullet is that the sprue needs to be cut cleanly. Make sure there's no 'nub' on the base of the bullet that could prevent the gc from seating fully.

Hope that answers your question. Good shooting. :drinks:
