I am having trouble seating 30Cal gass checks on CBE 303 boolits ,they are slitly too small ,am i yousing the right size checks

I`ve used the 30cal gaschecks for my .303 British rifles with no troubles. Are those CBE boolits that you cast, or did you acquire them from another source?

I cast them my self out of WW they are very smooth whith no flaws all wheigh nealy exactly 226gr with GC fited

I think Jeff in NZ has done a lot of work with CBE designs for the 303.....hopefully he will see your post and be able to help you out. Alternately, do a search on CBE 303 and see if he is the 303 expert Im thinking about (pretty sure it is him) - if so try and send him a PM. Hope it is OK to suggest this. Regards Peter

Check the size of your boolit shank, and look in the Stickie on this site to compare for fit:

I had problems with Hornady checks fitting some boolits, on those Gator Checks fit better.

Jim at CBE cuts his gas check shanks oversize for the .303 moulds diliberately to accomodate fat grooves. You will need to flare the checks slightly. I made a small punch just be spinning a piece of brass rod in my drill press and reducing the diameter to suit. A pan head screw/bolt would work too.
