I cast some of the Lee Bators the other day and decided to try them in the 222. I've got an 8# jug of WC846 and decided to start from there. My boolits weigh in at a nominal 49 grains and were sized to .225". I started the loads at 17 grains and worked up in .5 grain increments to 19 grains. I should have cranked a couple of foulers but was in a hurry.
17.0 grains = 1.138" with the last 3 in .349"
17.5 grains = .376"
18.0 grains = 1.951" with 4 in .577"
18.5 grains = 1.015" with 4 in .527"
19.0 grains = .555"
All in all, I'm pleased with this first attempt at 50 yards.
