I picked up 3 Ideal molds at a garage sale (made in the late 60s?). My new Lyman handles have the mounting rails too far apart to fit them. I remember the old style Lyman handles looked different. Are there any commercial handles available today that will fit old single cavity Ideals? If not, I plan on fabricating some brackets to adapt my new handles, any suggestion? Thanks.

BTW one of the molds throws a .358 full wadcutter, about 1/2 as long as my 148 gr- maybe 80-90 grains were these to save lead while target shooting?

From what I see posted here, Red River Rick makes some very fine mold handles. He's also a sponsor of this site...Ray

The old Lymans came in two sizes, large and small. Obviously, you need the small size.

They show up on eBay with some regularity...

The Lee 6 cavity handles fit perfectly. I am blown away by the depth of knowledge and the willingness to share by Castboolits members.
Thanks!!

Thanks, I was just given an old Ideal 358-418 single cavity mold. I have some extra Lee six cavity handles down in the barn. Also given an incomplete 30-06 lee loader. Free is good.

There was a post on here awhile back showing where a member had modified a dollar store set of pliers by grinding and drilling to fit a set of blocks.
