milltownhunter, I have blended 75% stick-on w/w with 25% clip ons to beef up the skirt on the Lee 360gr minne. I only use 80 gr of Goex as these are very accurate and I'm not after an elephant. These will penetrate end to end on Iowa deer.

I don't have anything that will shoot 150gr so don't know about that. The minies are suppose to go in slightly loose. Mine actually are a little tight, tighter than I like. They drop at about .501- .503. They will tighten up more also after the first fouling shot. I have also heard of some removing the base pin and have it taken down some to thicken the skirt.

i have the .500 lee minie. i shoot them in my cva accura. Its a 360gr bullet and with 110gr American Pioneer, it kicks like a SOB. i cant see any reason to shoot 150 grains of powder with it!

If you go much higher than 110gr with real BP you will mostly be waisting powder with little to gain.

In my TC Hawken I didn't get but a few FPS more by loading over 110gr of Goex. For me more than 110 is adding to global warming :p

I'm still looking for a mini that this rifle likes... it has a PRB fettish if you know what I meen, farking Bbl :p

Personally, I prefer the Lee R.E.A.L. bullet to the Minie...super simple to load, 320 grains and solid as a moose. Nothing to go wrong, there!

Is buffalo bullets still making those monster flat bases? I'll have to see if they are still in my bag (that is currently hiding from me...) they came in a styrofome block and had soft lube in the knerled sides. I remember them bing rather accurat in my TC Hawken.
