Hi ,
Do I need to size a .312 -185 gr. (Lee mold boolit) for AK barrel - .300 -.311 (7.62X39)?

Thanks in advance for any help.

If your barrel groove is .311", your .312" boolits should be just about perfect. I shoot .312" boolits in mine, and I just run them through a .314" die to seat the gas check and lube, no sizing.

In the Lyman manual, they're sizing their bullets to .311".

.002" over groove diameter works great in my AK.

You need to slug your barrel to be sure They tend to run large sometimes.

+1 on slugging your barrel. We have absolutely no way of knowing what you should be sizing your boolits to without having bore dimensions. .002 over groove diameter is what you should be aiming for.

...........Yup, slug that barrel! A couple thou over and generally no harm no foul. A couple thou Under and you're screwed :-)

Most people shoot the 155 or 160 grain Harris design boolit in that cartridge because it was designed to feed well. If your 185 gives you trouble, you might want to look into that. You can get either mold from Lee.

i size to 312 for my ruger and my bushmaster and they work fine so i would think you will be ok.
