Was wondering if anyone has seen the new Uberti Rolling Blocks. They are chambered in 30-30 38-55 and 45-70 as I recall. Uberti.com shows em.

I think that's the oddest butt-stock I've seen in a while. Maybe they'll make it in a rifle configuration one of these days. 8-)

Either those are a #4 action chambered for waaaay too big cartridges, or they have scaled up the #4. But the weight suggests they are using it as is, which is a terribly poor idea.

Good morning
It is still far better to get a descent origonal RB and put a new barrel on it. Mine now has 22 + years and several thousand cast rounds through it and it shoots as well as ever. Baushke Barrel 34" long and 1-18 twist.

What is pictured on the web site is their replica of the Remington No. 2 rifle, not to be confused with the large frame "pistol" action, which looked much the same in outline but was much beefier.

I have one (Uberti) in 22RF, and it's cute little thing. I considered getting one of the older centerfires (.22 Hornet or 357 Mag) and rebarreling it to 25-20 Repeater, or 32-20. I agree that the frame and the barrel shank are much too small for 30-30 and 38-55. 45-70 would be an accident waiting to happen. I think the biggest thing that Remington chambered in the No. 2 was 38 Long Rimfire.

Resp'y,

I tried to get one in 30-30 3 weeks ago and my dealer didn't have them listed in his price sheet. I emailed Uberti and was told they were new and out of stock(???) and should be in stock by summer. Bought a SRH 44mag instead. Maybe later.

The stock looks like the old perch belly ones.

I hope that's bigger than a #2 but at 4.5 pounds it can't be. I don't think I would want to shoot it in 45-70, I had a #3 Ruger that kicked hard at 6.25 pounds

I agree with John Taylor... a 4.5# 45/70 would beat the bat **** out of you!

I'd limit it to black powder and 500 grain boolits :bigsmyl2:

From watching the video I get the impression this is not a copy of a particular action but something they scaled down.
Does look like a #2 though.
At 4.5 pounds even a 30-30 would be hard on the body with that stock and buttplate.

But the 30-30 as a cast boollit gun with period type sights would be a hoot ! My inquiries are out now. BvT
