Tried 20-1 alloy and soft lead I used Lee 230TL drilled to a 190 g Hp i used 6.4 Universal. The bullet weight was 190 g. post drilling. Bullet on left was cast with soft lead right 20-1 The back stop was tight bundle of newpaper (dry) wound channel was about 6 in at 5 yrds bullet on left 171 g right 185 g

I'll normally cast my HPs for pistols out of WWs cut with a little pure lead. Soft to be sure but with HPs out of the "smaller" pistols, you need all the help with expansion you can get at 50 yards. The velocity of the .357s and .44s (and other big calibers) tends to overcome the expansion problems and you can use a harder alloy.

The softer alloy tends to make a more accurate load and enhance expansion on the .32s, 9mm and .45s from my experiences./beagle
