No misunderstanding Stubshaft - You are correct sir!! I just finished putting the Comp tgt model together after cleaning. I'm looking at the bolt and realize the spring on top is the one that operates the bolt. Like I said - genius, but not a gunsmith. So now what. The extractor on the troublesome MkII looks to have the right angle and it is sharp. Maybe the extractor spring is weak. Maybe the ammo just sucks. It does stink. You can feel the difference in power in a mag of ten rounds. Using Federal from Wally's. Not going to spend the bux for Eley though. I guess before I break out the tools I should get some higher vel ammo and see if that does the trick. Don't recall having problems with some Win target ammo I had a while back. And of course I have like 4K rounds of the Fed. I'll look around for some Win ammo. Thanks Stubshaft. enjoy Mike
