This auction recently ended and the selling price is $62.00 plus $5.50 S&H.

Here's the description:

"This auction is for a Lyman No. 311284, 2-cavity bullet mould. This mould is used but in very good condition. There is some light corrosion in the cavities as seen in the photo, but a light emery cloth should clean them up without problem as the mould was stored with the cavities filled with lead. This mould casts a 210-grain pointed bullet that accepts a gas check. Thanks for looking and good luck. "

A new one sells for $41.73 at Midsouth.

Then there's a single cavity 311291 that is currently at $51.00

and this one, a single cavity discontinued 313445, currently at $89.99

The winning bidder in the first auction and the high bidder in the other 2 auctions is imfoxbat2. This guy knows something we don't.

the more I see what people do on ebay the more I think some people don't have one brain cell left in there head it is just plain stupid to pay more for an item than it cost somewhere else :castmine: 44Woody

There's an ebayer buyer born every minute...P.T. Barnum.

Buying on ebay for some people is like a box of chocolates -- you never know what you're going to get until you bite.

What's even more fun is look at what he has already bought... and paid... for some other things.

The seller is a "member" here that only bothers to post his e-bay plugs down in the swappin and sellin forum. Matter of fact, he inspired the no ebay plug rule.

I like how he describes his rusted up moulds as "very good" condition. Very ethical, must be a lawyer.

.................Crazy to pay that for a current production mould. And it's crazy to pay more then it would cost to buy a very similar NEI, Saeco or RCBS mould. Unless the person was a Lyman collector and needed it, then it might make sense.

I like where they say with that 311284 to use emery paper :-). The mould appears to be still useable as no pitting was mentioned so some Hoppes on 4/0 steel wool on a matchstick and spun via a drill motor would probably have it shipshape quickly.

Ha! When you see mister (or miss, how in *ell do know) imfoxbat2 bidding on anything don't bother to join the fun. I've seen him/her bidding few items and I've seen him/her doing lots of crazy things too. Here's one old example; I bought exactly the same mold from Ebay, factory new, boxed and wrapped in original unopened Lyman flip top box at $46.50 and this dude/dudette pays more than $80 for the similar mold:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7238396185

Even I wouldn't bother to pay over $30 for any mold handles:

I wonder how many user names Ebay will let you have at 1 time? Maybe he's in a bidding war with himself..

Last winter I bought several Clymer chamber finish reamers on eBay and got some real steals. Before bidding I looked up the new price and what it cost to have one re-sharpened and used that as my cut-off point for bidding. I saw some regularly available reamers go for $50 more than they cost new. The price usually went nuts in the last half hour of bidding and I decided to not bid until the last thirty seconds to keep anyone else from jacking the price up to the point that I could not get my reamer. It of course doesn't work every time because some folks had already put their maximum bid over the value of the item and I got outbid, but for those who panic in the last two or three minutes of bidding and stupidly jack the price up sky high, my method thwarts those idiots because by the time they post their outrageously high bid it has already ended and it keeps the price I pay down.

So it just goes to show what everbody else has been saying here is true - - - that P.T. Barnum was right! Now, I wonder what that egress thing is he talks about, I'm going to go over through that door marked "to the egress" and take a look!

One for buying and another for selling .

Just have to have 2 email address ( I do )
They will only let you have 1 name per address , at least when I tryed .

If they catch you bidding on your own idem , they claim you are OUT , no apeal , no questions ask or eqcuses
