One of the web sites used to publish targets that could be used as a diagnostic tool to tell the shooter what they were doing wrong by the location of the reponderance of bullet impacts.
It came from the US Army manuals for M-16 and M-9 (Berretta 92), but is no longer in those manuals. A source for that information would be GREATLY appreciated.

Caswell ( I think), used to make a wallet sized card for diagnosing targets. I don't know where you could find one now, I got mine when I went to rangemaster school in the Navy. I'm pretty sure even if I can find mine that it will be to worn to get a good scan but I'll try.

Try this! If I remember right the rifle analysis was close to the same!

I think there should be another section on those targets that says "Sight adjustment needed"......:D
I've fired on that tareget before and was supposedly "Riding the Recoil" but after some adjustment to my sights, I was centering shots. (And I don't have excessive muzzle flip when firing any handgun)
Does the sight adjustment compensate for "riding recoil"? I don't know but...
..it works for me! [smilie=1:

Yes, I am "ASSuming" that the article as written presupposes the handgun is sighted in properly before the shooter starts.
All mine are sighted in off a bench rest, as best I can hold. Then, when during a shooting match, I notice shots wandering, I can take steps to correct my error. My biggest fault/problem is the "too much trigger finger". When I see that, I consciously move fingertip back where it belongs and the shots start moving back where they belong.
So, anyone who consistently puts 'em into a tight group should be able to move that group around all over the target just by moving the sights. Get a gun that doesn't shoot well though, and all bets are off.
An exercise to try, alone or in a group, with a revolver, is to load only 3-4 rounds, randomly. As you fire, "YOU" will see your flinching/dipping/heeling/whatever each time you touch off a dummy round. And your friends will be ROFL if you are flinching.
(I know. I usta' be there and done that. There's nothing like some good old self-humiliation to make ya' want to hone your shooting skills..............Lee:)

That's a GREAT game to play Lee! :D
(Although I've known some "great marksmen" ("There's something wrong with this gun of your's" [smilie=1: ) to get kinda PO'ed when they are discovered to jump about a foot when the hammer drops!)
