a newby and gas checks

If I am shooting cb without sizing how do the gas checks get installed. wayne h

The only way to attach the gas check is by sizing. The gas check has a tapered opening with a burr/sharp edge on the inside and when you place the gas check over the bas of the boolit and push it through the sizing die it closes the top of the gas check pushing the burr/sharp edge into the shank of the boolit. The last thing you want is the gas check coming off in flight. If you do a search on gas check dimensions it will show the taper.
