Not sure if this is the place but here goes. I was wondering if i can size my lee .459-.405 that drops at around .462 - .463 down to .458? Is that too much or do i need to do it in acouple of stages?

No its not the right place but thats alright, Yes you can size em down that far. The harder the alloy, will make it harder to size but I think .004 or .005 should be ok.

I would probably try to size them soon after casting

The alloy used makes a big difference. Both times that I broke my Lyman 450 was sizing hard alloy 45/70 boolits down. Be cautious and smear a little lube on every other boolit before it enters the sizing die.

You can break a Lyman 450 handle just thinking about sizing type metal...

If you need to reduce them .005 or more I would recomend using Lee's push through sizer to form them down before running them through the lubriziser.

Your loading press is better suited to this task than a lubrisizer.

You should be fine 5 thou is about as much as I will do. More than that and the lube groves start getting deformed.

If you could get lube in the grooves before sizing it would help support the lands and prevent damage. If you find damage, you could pan lube before sizing, but try it without lube first to see if it's necessary.
