In the DVA store for $0.35 I found a big spoon , about 20 tablespoons big and a long handle 12 in. long, I was going to drill 1/2 holes in it and use for getting the WW clips out of the pot, On the back of it was stamped WB W, Looked it up on evil bay and was made in 1900 in England, worth $12.00, Dont have the heart to cut it up now, Back to the junk store for a new spoon and more bowling balls again.

Hey there Joe! That's a good problem to have. I just use a stainless G.I. long handled slotted spoon. Nothing fancy, just the ticket though.

Go to china mart and to the deep frying section. They got these wire scoops that work great. $3-$4 each.

the cheapest thing I have got to get the clips out of the mix is a magnet with a handle welded to it and I get the magnets out of old speakers I drop the clips into a bucket of water away from the melted lead D Crockett

I use an inexpensive pair of long needle nose pliers.
I have always done it that way, I get to shake each one out, and it is part of the melting process to me.
Sometimes, I can grap two at once!

For years now I have used a magnet. Clean, fast, and easy. Lift them out and tap the magnet on a coffee can to get rid of them.

This is also what I use for the big stuff and use a slotted spoon for dross and smaller stuff..... Particularly handy when I'm working with range lead.....
